“Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection.” From A Letter From Birmingham Jail 1963.
This week, those of us who are in the United States gather with friends and family celebrate, eat and share time with those important to us.
We also usually take time to reflect on the last year and remember those people and things that we are thankful for.
I am thankful for……
…friends and family.
…Comcast not making me homeless (more on that in another post)
…My Job and Health Insurance and an understanding and fair management team and good people to work with.
…Those that have been there for me when I needed it.
…My photographic skills and those that have helped and critiqued me along the way.
… my dog Chloe
…having a car that isnt old or has a ton of mechanical problems.
…my new apartment (bigger and closer to work)
…mother nature
…all the new friends I have met in that last few months.
…those that have helped me see my faults and allowing me to explore myself in a new way and helping me be a better person.
…my health.
…My Satellite radio and the internet for allowing me to explore my musical interests in a new way.
…having a real down to earth person in the white house. (example calling Kanye a jackass, playing basketball once a week, ect).
…reconnecting with friends family and long time acquaintances via facebook. It has been nice catching up
…all those who have had a important role in my life. I take a small piece of that with me in my life’s journey.
…That I am alive and witnessing the things that I am.
There is a lot more i could put here but this is the most important to me right now.
What are you thankful for this holiday season.
Happy Thanksgiving all be safe, be thankful, and be yourself.
