I am thankful…

I’m thankful for…..

……My health and the Doctors that cared of me.

……My Dad for being the man he is and being a good father

……For my Job, Apartment, Health insurance and paycheck

……My friend Stacy, I have known her for 12 years and she has been there for me more times than I can count or ever return to her.

……That I got to see my good friend Ted yesterday. I am thankful that our friendship is getting rekindled.

……That my beard looks sooo freaking cool ..

……for my dog Chloe. She has been a amazing addition to my life.

……for Melanie, she has been great all these years.

……for those that have loved me in the past and still today.

……for Alex being a part of my life. Even though things didn’t work out with her, Her love of life, positive attitude, caring, spirituality, spontaneity, and love for all things has had a profound and lasting impact on my life and been very inspirational. I am thankful that our life’s journeys crossed.

……that Obama Won.

……that today is such a pretty day

……that I bought my camera 2 years ago and it allowed me to find a creative side of myself I didn’t even know I had.

……for my education.

……my mom took me in to the kitchen as a kid. As a result I am pretty good cook.

……that my photographs may brighten someones holiday (see comments here).

……that out nation is finally headed towards the right path.

My Grandfather — Jack Call

My Grand Father

I called him Grandpap…

Here is the Obituary from the Review in East Liverpool, OH

EAST LIVERPOOL John H. “Jack” Call, 88, formerly of Sunnyside Avenue, died at 3 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008, at Calcutta Health Care Center, following a brief illness.

Born Feb. 27, 1920, in Wellsville, he was a son of the late John Q. and Sylvia Hyatt Call.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in New Guinea and the Pacific Theatre. He was Methodist by faith.

A member of the Cub 10 Naval Reunion, he was graduated from Wellsville High School in 1939, where he was the class president. Jack lettered in baseball, football, and basketball while in high school.

He was a charter member and organizer of the East Liverpool Baseball Old Timers Association and was very instrumental in developing the baseball complex in Calcutta. He also loved to fix and repair old baseball gloves and mitts.

Surviving is his wife, Mary Margaret Flowers Call, whom he married Sept. 1, 1959, at home.

Two daughters surviving are Pennie Jo Winland and her husband, William, of Tamarac, Fla., and Kristina Russell and her husband, James, of Youngstown.

Also surviving are two sons: Richard Call and his wife, Sherry, of Baxter, Ky., and the Rev. Dr. Bradley Call and his wife, Sue, of St. Clairsville; and a stepson, Donald W. “Butch” Wright and his wife, Cheryl, of East Liverpool.

He is survived by a sister, Laura “Sis” Kidd of East Liverpool, and a brother, William R. “Pecky” Call of East Liverpool.

There are 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer “Ike” Call.

Friends may call at the Dawson Funeral Home on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.

The Rev. Dr. Brad Call is to conduct services at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Full military honors will be accorded by the Tri-State Veterans Burial Group.

Burial will to be in Spring Grove Cemetery.

The family would like to thank everyone at Calcutta Health Care Center and Hospice of the Valley.
