Last weekend I opted to avoid the Steeplechase Crowd and go somewhere i would feel more comfortable, the Tennessee Renaissance Festival.

Besides gnawing on a Turkey Leg and wishing for a jouster de-horsing I took some pictures:

In light of the recent events at the Scales Elementary School field trip incident I propose a question: What kind attention do you think this would be getting if the Virginia Tech thing didn’t happen? 

I personally think it would have blown over and I am pretty sure the parents would not be all over national TV talking about it. I also don’t think the teacher would be getting suspended without pay.  I do think it was done in poor judgment and probably went to far but there is no need for it to be as sensationalized as it is right now. 

This is a picture I took last July when I went to Oregon to vist a friend (bigger version). It was taken at the Coldwater Ridge Visitor Center about 7 Miles away. The cloud looking things inside the creater is steam being vented. The area had just opened up after a month or so of high activity. It’s stitiched this together from 4 photographs.
